Guppies
How do you make seafood fun for kids? By treating the entire restaurant as an interactive playground! For this self-initiated concept, I developed a charming, kid-friendly mascot to guide families through the dining journey. The project bridges the gap between digital identity and physical product design, featuring highly stylized coloring book menu, environmental graphics, and special cutlery featuring the mascot that injects play into the mechanics of eating.
The Coloring Book Menu: Interactive Table-Side Storytelling
To keep young diners engaged from the moment they sit down, I treated the menu as a fully interactive coloring book. Featuring my own hand-drawn illustrations and a colorful explosion of whimsical polkadots, the layout balances clean, playful food options for parents with high-energy canvas space for kids. It transforms a passive waiting period into an active, creative touchpoint that extends the restaurant's spirit onto the tabletop.
The Guppy Gripper & Crown Suite: From Sculpture to Product
To fully realize the tactile experience of the brand, I stepped away from the screen to execute the entire industrial design and fabrication pipeline myself. I hand-sculpted the prototype for the 'Guppy Gripper' cutlery, created a custom mold, and cast the final piece using a soft plastic that is safe and comfortable for tiny hands. Paired with crowns for the coloring book, this end-to-end physical process ensured that at every turn a child is met with yet another thing to get excited about.
