Redwoods: Camping With Giants
An exercise in large-scale brand storytelling, this concept envisions an immersive outdoor festival set among the ancient Redwoods. I developed a cohesive visual identity that balances the rugged textures of the Pacific Northwest with a modern, clean aesthetic, ensuring the branding feels as expansive and awe-inspiring as the environment itself.
Event Guidebook
To honor the legacy of John Muir, I developed this guidebook as a holistic exploration of the forest’s soul. I utilized a commanding vertical layout to mirror the staggering height of the Redwoods, creating a physical experience that feels as expansive as the trees themselves. I architected the content to serve as both a tactile artifact and a functional tool, integrating species identification and camping logistics and wilderness activities.
Featuring a fold out map as an easy reference guide to the surrounding parks.
Living Archives: The Redwood Timeline
Driven by my background in fine art, this poster series features illustrated tree rings designed to map the passage of time on Earth. Each poster serves as a conceptual layer of history, framing the Redwoods as living archives. The unified suite chronicles what these ancient trees have 'witnessed' over centuries of human progress—from the dawn of transformative inventions and advancements in transportation, to the world's greatest artists, and the evolving landscape of global music.
Each poster was engineered to function as a modular piece of a larger visual puzzle. When displayed together, the lines connect seamlessly, forming a massive, continuous section of complete cross-section of a tree. This smart design choice transforms individual posters into a collective installation, physically reinforcing how invention, transportation, art, and music are all interconnected chapters within the immense lifespan of the forest.
Branding & Identity
To create an uninterrupted brand experience, I carried the vertical design system into a comprehensive identity suite that includes a custom logo, letterhead, business cards, and envelopes. Every touchpoint was engineered to reject standard horizontal layouts, instead utilizing a commanding vertical axis that mirrors the natural architecture of the Redwoods. This demonstrates an ability to translate a grand environmental theme into a clean, functional, and highly polished asset.
